Vimeo sees a lot of use in digital workplaces, ranging from supplementing videos added to Igloo with external embeds, to embedding live events, or the added privacy and additional features, such as 4k video. Its interface also makes it easy to share, making it popular for embedding marketing and promotional videos in your digital workplace.
Today I'll walk through how to use Vimeo in your Igloo, and how some of its sharing and privacy features interact with the Igloo platform.
You can embed videos from Vimeo using the Share option in the video sidebar, which will provide an iframe embed code that can be added to articles, comments, or HTML widgets in Igloo. You can also paste the url of the video into the video option in Igloo, and the platform will automatically be embedded in your post. Once embedded, it can be fine-tuned in the code view, but also aligned and adjusted by selecting the video itself and using the options available.
Vimeo live events feature additional embedding options, letting you embed live streams through the same methods you use to embed video and streaming into your community in up to 4k quality. Vimeo also offers the ability to embed the chat, so a stream of your webinar or town hall can be positioned on a Page inside your digital workplace with the chat along side it, as well as links to additional resources and calls to action.
Vimeo offers you a much richer range of privacy options than Youtube, letting you password protect your videos, or even limit where they can be embedded at the domain level. This can let you store high quality videos there and embed them in multiple places without the concern of outside viewers seeing your content, as there is with unlisted Youtube videos.
Videos in Igloo focus on the audit trail, tracking views, changes, and downloads, but Vimeo offers a more robust set of video-focused analytics. Through the advanced analytics you can see where users are dropping off or skipping parts of longer videos, and get easy and deep tracking on a single video.
The native Igloo video player is optimized for shorter videos, such as tutorials or promotional content, but partnering with a dedicated video service like Vimeo can provide top quality embeds and streams directly in your digital workplace.

Jim Tigwell Is Vimeo often used for Livestreaming events like Townhalls etc?
Vimeo just rolled out live streaming recently, but it certainly can be. All of their video support and privacy features are available for live streams.
Emily Falconer Here is the Tips & Tricks Blog I shared with you about Vimeo and Livestreaming. Thanks!
