Page load times are affected by the number of requests as well as the size of the content. Page load times can be reduced by reducing the number of image requests.
How can we reduce the number of image requests, without actually removing images?
Simple, join multiple image files and save as one image, then use CSS to make sure that the image displays properly.
Example 1: You have two separate background images. Image A and B. We can place the images either side by side or top to bottom.
