Choosing the right image format can be tricky, especially whenyou need to consider file size and quality. Not to mention issueslike browser compatability and operating system gamma correction. We won't get into that this time around...
First we will begin with something simple. Improving ourvocabulary and a quick reference guide to compare file size andquality based on format.
The author of the file format GIF pronounces the acronym with asoft G like giraffe, not with a hard G like gift
The PNG specification (or the Scope section of the newerISO/IEC/W3C version) states that PNG is pronounced in English as "ping" not "pinj" or "pee en gee". However, for non-Englishspeakers, the three-letter pronunciation is accepted.

Nice article. I was struggling with graphic issues for a while.
Awesome, and very informative article! I just started reading something about .png file format here: http://www.paintshoppro.com/en/pages/png-file/ and than I was a bit confused about the difference between some of the formats, and the usage. But you managed to explain it very nicely, so thank you very much for clearing it up.
