One nice thing about modern browsers is the ability to extendfunctionality by installing add-ons. However not all add ons playwell with your websites and can actually change the intended lookand feel a designer slaved over.
Skype, a nice application doesjust that. When installing the application, a plugin is added toyour web browser that adds interactivity to phone numbers on webpages. A nice little feature if your not interested in the look andfeel of sites that you visit. Of course this formatting onlyhappens for those of us using Skype, so don't worry about yoursites being effected visually for the rest of the world.
But what if you do care what the Skypers of the world see whenthey visit your site?
Like the effort put into web development for browsercompatibility, we can also take the time to make sure our site hasa uniform look and feel by block out that pesky Skype formattingwith one simple line of code.
<meta name="SKYPE_TOOLBAR" content="SKYPE_TOOLBAR_PARSER_COMPATIBLE" />
IGLOO has a handy tool in the Admin Community Settings panelthat allows you to easily copy in the meta tag and remove thosepesky styles.
