When creating posts in your community whether it is a blog, wiki or forum post you may have noticed that when you insert a photo it's necessary to upload the image to a gallery album. This however can lead to images which don't have much of a purpose outside your post and lead to clutter in your gallery. To avoid this you can follow the steps below.
While writing your post you will see an "add attachment" button below your content area, here you are able to upload an attachment to include in your post. However another use for this attachment is to embed the image into your post without uploading to a gallery. To do this select "Add Attachment" select your image and hit open. The image will upload and you can select preview from its action drop down.
Now select the link button in the bottom right corner of the preview window and copy it.
Now that you have the link on your clip board simply select insert image from your WYSIWYG editor and choose external link, in the Image URL field paste your images URL, Hit insert and your image will be in your post and not in your gallery!
Hope this tip helps you keep your gallery a little more orginized.
