By now you've probably heard about Tinsel, Igloo's newest release, coming on December 6. We're pretty excited about it, and wanted to take a moment to share our enthusiasm about some of the features rolling out as part of the update.
One of the most exciting things coming in this release is the addition of color-coded channels. You'll be able to select a color for each channel, and see at a glance which channel each update belongs to. There are 40 colors to choose from, with a dark and a light color scheme, so you can make the labels suit your community.
Color-coding works especially well for the calendar app, where you can have channels for different departments, rooms, teams, or whatever suits you, and display them all together in an aggregate view.
This feature will be enabled across all apps, so you'll be able to assign colors to blogs, calendars, folders, forums, microblogs, and wikis. The colors will also show up in your activity stream, so at a glance you can see what channels are getting the most attention.
If you're interested in the other features coming later this week, check out IglooSoftware.com/tinsel.

I am so excited about this! This has been a request from our internal employees for a while and I am thrilled to be able to implement this at the next release. The color changes are a big win for our teams.
