Symptoms

The Sync fails and produces a log line that includes the following:

Error during Sync occurred: The size limit was exceeded,    at System.DirectoryServices.Protocols.LdapConnection.ConstructResponse(Int32 messageId, LdapOperation operation, ResultAll resultType, TimeSpan requestTimeOut, Boolean exceptionOnTimeOut)

   at System.DirectoryServices.Protocols.LdapConnection.SendRequest(DirectoryRequest request, TimeSpan requestTimeout)

   at ILST.Connection.SearchDirectory(String searchFilter, String[] attributesRequired, String baseDN, SearchScope scope)

   at ILST.Program.UserSync(Settings settings)

y   at ILST.UserAccount.GetUsers(ConnectionContainer connections)

Diagnosis 

The page size for queries to the AD is too large.

Actions

• Lower the <PageSize> in the <Connection> section of the ILST config. The default is 1000. Try 500.
