Symptoms

The Sync fails and produces a log line that includes the following:

Error during Sync occurred: The LDAP server is unavailable.

Diagnosis 

The ILST is unable to connect to the Active Directory via an LDAP Connection. This can be caused by:

• An incorrect <Host> in the <Connection> section of the config file
• A firewall or security setting preventing the connection

Actions

• Confirm that the Host name is correct
• Confirm that you can connect to and query you AD from the location of the ILST using an LDAP browser
