We are happy to be releasing the latest update to Igloo next week, a significant update that's packed with a lot of enhancements that have been requested by you. Let's take a quick look at some of the changes coming to Igloo next week.

Link Search is Back!

When we introduced the new editor, we inadvertently removed a feature that many of you use on a daily basis - link search. We're happy to bring that back in the November update. You can now quickly reference a link in your Igloo community without having to know the URL. Thanks to Angela Seth‍, Mikala Batty‍, Erin Snow‍, Maurice Ryder‍ for pointing this out and sharing your concerns - we wanted to make sure we got this back into Igloo as soon as possible.

Table Styling Improvements

Accessibility Improvements

We continually strive to make Igloo more accessible, and in this release we put our focus on images. Igloo will now automatically insert alternate text upon image insertion (regardless of source) that can be read by screen readers.

Custom Welcome Messages

The new editor is available in the Control Panel for creating custom welcome messages. This is the message that automatically gets sent to members who have just joined a community.

Editor Usability Improvements

You will notice a number of usability improvements in the new editor, including:

• The editor no longer wipes out all content when multiple lines are deleted and content is wrapped in a <div> tag. 
• Pressing the up and down arrow keys within a table now actually navigates up and down, as expected (instead of left/right).

Links Widget Update - Tabs!

We understand that some link types make sense to open in the same tab (e.g. links within the community) and others make sense to open in a new tab (e.g. external links). For these reasons, community administrators can now specify whether each link opens in the same tab or on a new tab.   The search box was also updated to be more user friendly. Thanks to Liam Webb‍, Rebecca Weaver‍, and Nathan Hadley‍ for your patience - this one's for you.
